British business is looking for ways to enter the Russian market

British business is interested in trade with Russia and is looking for ways to enter the Russian market, said Sergei Averin, representative of the Russian Chamber of Commerce in the Russian-British Chamber of Commerce. He explains that interest was confirmed by the next quarterly meeting of the Cluster of Food and Beverage Exporters of East Anglia, held in Cambridge, organized by the Regional Department for International Trade of Great Britain. The main agenda of the meeting was the issue of the exit of British manufacturers with their products to the Russian market in the regime of current Western sanctions and Russian anti-sanctions.

Sergei Averin said that the opinions of the experts invited to the meeting of British experts on Russia, the specialists of companies working in Russia such as Adnams, Burlington Drinks, Grace Foods, coincided that the business in our country is very profitable, with huge growth potential. In Russia, the British have never had questions with payments, dishonesty of Russian partners. The British note how important it is to establish personal contact, trusting relationships with Russian partners. Those who are already working in Russia are not afraid of mutual sanctions. It does not mean that the sanctioning policy is liked by British entrepreneurs. Of course not. Nevertheless, they are less afraid of sanctions than, for example, unpredictability and numerous changes in national and Russian regulation, for example, in the production and turnover of ethyl alcohol, alcohol and alcohol-containing products, the RF CCI representative in the Russian-British Chamber of Commerce emphasizes.

The vast majority of British companies representing small and medium-sized businesses work in Russia through agents or distributors of their products. According to Sergey Averin, it is precisely here that it is necessary to strengthen the work and attention of territorial CCIs and enterprises of the CCI of Russia system to them. He emphasizes that it is necessary to "arm" Russian enterprises with a set of tools so that they are ready for changes and innovations in Russian economic policy. At the same time, territorial CCIs can play the role of a kind of adapter for foreign business, helping them to find "right" Russian partners, reacting quickly to the requests of foreign business, including those directed through the system of foreign offices of the RF CCI. Subsidiaries, Sergei Averin believes, it is advisable to conduct a more flexible pricing policy in dealing with small business representatives of the UK, enterprises that, for example, are not able to rent exhibition spaces independently and are forced to do this solely through their agents, thus limiting their cooperation to only one partner .
